Hello from the POS world. I know everyone sees the POS systems in use every day, but we have so much more still going on in the background even during these crazy times. First, I want everyone to know that Bruce is enjoying retirement and thinks of you all constantly. Second, congratulations to you, the stores, for dealing with this ever-evolving situation called COVID-19. I am impressed at how quickly everyone has been able to adapt and continue to make our brand a success.
With these ever-changing scenarios we have discovered a major piece of equipment that everyone is overlooking, but absolutely needs to have to keep their stores running efficiently, credit card ma-chines. We are having stores find out in their time of need that they do not have a backup drive thru credit card machine. Please make sure your store has a backup credit card machine that has not been used. If you have a bad machine, make sure you have called SOS TACO to get a MRA number emailed to your store so my team or your District Manager can send it out for repair. If you do not have one at all because it has gone missing please let me and your District Manager know as soon as possible. We cannot have these overnighted to you because they must be programmed per store. Please make sure everyone is following the proper cleaning procedures. The credit card machines are very sensitive to moisture. Make sure nothing is sprayed directly onto the machine and it is wiped down with towels only.
Finally, even with these crazy times of lock downs, delays and cancellations technology is still going obsolete. We still have 27 stores that have the Brother MFC-8220 and Brother J5520DW that will be going out in June. If your store has one of these and it goes down before we replace it please let me know so we can go ahead and start ordering you the newest model, MFC-5845DW. Thank you all for your continued patience, stay safe and healthy.
