During these tumultuous times, I want to thank you all for your commitment and for your ability to navigate these ever-complex times. At the annual Manager Conference, as always, I was prepared to grant you a sneak peek as to what is coming for the remainder of the year and what exciting items are in test. Then, due to the current circumstances, we were unable to get together. Since that time, the marketing calendar has been in constant flux, with changes happening almost every week and many new excited limited time offers being shelved for the time being. What has impressed me the most is that all of our restaurants have been able to swiftly adapt to the new operational realities that have come about, while simultaneously dealing with an increase in the number of promotions. Even mid-marketing experience promotional additions to the menu do not seem to faze you all. I am not sure how everyone is doing it, but know that you and your hard work are appreciated.
Due to the uncertainty of how the current situation plays out, unfortunately, I do not have any definitive answers for you as to what may be coming in the future on the marketing calendar. However, I would like to highlight a few items that Taco Bell has tested recently that were previously on our calendar and hopefully will be coming to our stores sooner rather than later. Taco Bell has plans for a “From Our Cantina” line of products that are meant to showcase high-quality, fresh ingredients. Testing has included items like an Avocado Ranch Bowl, a Chipotle Grilled Burrito, and a Quesadilla, each served with chips and guacamole. Another item in test is Crispy Tortilla Chicken. During testing, they have offered these crispy chicken strips a-la-carte, in the Crispy Tortilla Chicken Taco, and as a box. As we get more information about what items will be featured on the marketing calendar for the remainder of the year, we will let you know as soon as possible.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of our stores that recently participated in our next round of Dr. Pepper bike giveaways. Dr. Pepper generously provided these bikes to recently constructed stores and we raffled them off to our customers.
