BurgerBusters greatest assets are their employees. The company has been able to navigate over the past year due to the amazing strength of our people. The challenges of COVID and the national employee shortages have certainly taxed the system, yet our people continue to lead, shine, and rise to exceed and overcome the challenges. The company’s ability to develop from within has allowed us to handle the ongoing threats to the business. The three by three development process is the foundation that allows all of the managers to be reviewed, assessed, and put on specific development plans to grow each employee’s skill sets. The development of our teams, is a wonderful culture statement on how much BurgerBusters cares about each employee.
I would like to thank Jeanette Jones for leading the three by three development process throughout the year. I was able to attend a couple of sessions to see first-hand the passion each DM and RGM have to develop each team and the importance of the three by three centers on the development plan and time to execute the plan to grow the employee’s skill sets. Please ensure all managers have ample time each month to work on their own development plan. I am attaching the critical elements of a sound development plan for your reference. I look forward to seeing all managers grow both personally and professionally.
Three by Three meeting is only intended for the following:
- “Show and Tell” what the manager has been doing the last six months as it pertains to self-development.
- Proper calibration to ensure all are on the same page.
- Additional “ideas and thoughts” on development.
- NOT A DOG AND PONY SHOW.
- Documents need to provide a story as to what has been going on and what actions are going to be taking place
- People development needs to a behavior on all store visits.
- Mark on your schedule as a big rock.
- Seek to understand how the process is working in the stores.
- Gain understanding on how the RGM and other managers are using the development process.
- Only makes your job easier in the long run.
