Safety in the workplace can mean many things including environmental hazards, unsafe working conditions or processes, drug and alcohol abuse, and workplace violence.
BurgerBusters Inc. strives to provide the safest of work environments for all employees, vendors, and guests of our establishments. BurgerBusters Inc. expects the cooperation of all of its employees to maintain a high level of safety in the workplace.
BurgerBusters Inc. provides safety equipment and training to keep you safe while at work.
- Slip resistant shoes must be worn by all employees to reduce the risk of slip and falls.
- Burn prevention gloves, goggles, and aprons are there for your protection while frying, using the rethermalizer, the Bunn hot dispenser, or when cleaning the grills.
- When used properly Biohazard clean up kits will protect you from biological hazards when cleaning up bodily fluids.
- Safety box cutters are the only box cutters allowed at work. These tools are designed to reduce lacerations.
- The back support belt should be worn when moving boxes or equipment that weigh more than 20 pounds. This should always be worn when putting a food delivery away, changing drinks, or when rearranging the stock room.
- The First Aid Kit should always be well stocked.
BurgerBusters Inc. has many safety and security polices in place that are designed to provide the safest environment for all its employees. Provided below please find a list of some reminders.
- The back door should only be used to take trash out during daylight hours and to accept deliveries. The back door should not be used as an entrance or exit for employees when arriving or departing from their shift.
- Only scheduled working employees and authorized vendors should be in the building after the dining room closes. The dining room doors should be locked during nondining room hours and employees should remain inside unless leaving for the day or on an unpaid meal period.
- Horseplay, throwing food or drink, practical jokes, fighting, or other disruptive behavior that may endanger the wellbeing of employees or guests is not allowed.
- Employees are not allowed to bring weapons onto the property.
- Kitchens can be very dangerous places with lots of hot equipment, hard surfaces, and small spaces. Working while under the influence of any intoxicating substance increases the risk of injuries and is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disciplinary action that may include termination of employment. This includes alcohol, THC products, marijuana, or products containing marijuana, all illegal substances, and any other substance that may impair your performance or pose a hazard to the safe environment at the store.
Turn on the evening news any given night and you will hear reports of violence increasing in our society. A mass shooting is defined as three or more injuries in a single gun violence incident. In May alone, we have had 41 mass shootings, 206 total this year. In 2021 we had 638. According to Mass Shooting information statistics, the motive in 54% of these shooting is unknown, however 20% (or 128 shootings last year) were identified as fights and arguments that escalated to gun violence.
Disruptive behavior, arguing, or fighting between any two individuals in our restaurants is not tolerated because it is dangerous and puts everyone in the restaurant in danger. While at work, we expect employees to follow all of BurgerBusters Inc.’s safety and security polices, this in turn will create a happy and safe work environment for everyone.
