Any leading brand must evolve and look for innovative ways to improve its customer and employee experience and Taco Bell has always excelled in doing so. Below I have outlined several recently introduced or upcoming brand mandates and innovations that improve the day-to-day store operations as well as enhance our customers’ experience at our restaurants.

Touch KDS (Kitchen Display System) – With this new technology, Food Champions can now look at eye-level tablets that have integrated training videos, build cards, and line balancing. Training mode allows for easier learning of new menu items with build cards integrated into the tablet for quick review. Team Members can now help other production lines by sharing orders between lines to improve speed and product ordering modifications are color-coded to improve accuracy. All BurgerBusters’ stores received their TKDS systems in 2022 except for remodels and multi-brand, which should be done in Q1 2023.

Grab & Go Pick-Up Experience – For select stores with high volume digital sales, this program will maximize customer convenience and promote a more seamless, organized process for our Team Members. This experience includes a dedicated parking spot with signage allowing mobile order customers and delivery drivers quick parking and easy access. Once inside, there is a designated shelf / pickup area near or on the front counter where they can quickly locate their order then grab it & go with ease. Select BurgerBusters’ stores will receive their Mobile / Delivery Pickup Shelving in the first half of 2023 with more to come as the digital business grows!

Grippy Mats – On the loss control and safety side of things, the drink station is the most common area for customer slip and falls so having a durable, easily maintained, and cost effective mat is essential. The Grippy Mat checks all those boxes. They last 50% longer than your standard mat, cost less on an annual basis, and never need to be picked up as they are cut to size and adhere to your floor. Contact your local Internal Maintenance Technician or Facilities in the Virginia Beach Home Office to get yours installed.
