BurgerBusters Inc.’s most valuable assets are the talent and resources of our workforce, but attracting and retaining top talent is difficult.  At our recent RGM conference, we discussed the many things we will have to do well to avoid the hiring roadblocks that comes with today’s record low unemployment, increased employee turnover, and cut throat competition. It takes strategic thought and planning to recruit and retain employees and show the community that we are an employer of choice. Here are some tips to help you accomplish this:

  • Now would […]

POINT-OF-SALES – EVOLUTION OF TECHNOLOGY

2019-11-14T17:13:29+00:00May 14th, 2019|Latest News|

In 1957 my family got our first television.  To a seven year old, it was like opening a whole new world. Some people felt that television would be the downfall of the country since people would be less active.  In fact, it did play a pivotal role in the increase of obesity, partly for the food advertisements displayed, but mostly for the sedentary hours which occurred as a result; however, TV was the last bit of technology which caused people to collectively share the same physical space and interact […]

This spring marked five years on the Corrigo platform and that is where the everyday repair and maintenance work orders for our building, equipment, and property flow through. This summer, BurgerBusters will be upgraded to the latest 9.2 version of the Corrigo platform across all stores as well […]

Since the last newsletter was published, BurgerBusters has undergone some major changes. As hinted at in the previous newsletter, BurgerBusters has recently acquired twenty-five restaurants across southwestern Virginia from   Tacoma Inc. This transaction has also brought a new brand into the company, Long John Silver’s, as part of two Taco Bell multibrand locations. Since the end of 2017, it was an enormous undertaking to bring these restaurants into the fold and members of all of our departments labored countless hours to ensure a smooth, error-free transition. Thank you to […]

I am proud to say that our organization is growing and we are being successful. We are in an age where everyone wants things fast. Fast internet, fast cars, and especially fast service. One major key in our success is our speed in our restaurants. Not only do we want to provide our guests with the best customer service, but we also want to provide them with the fastest speed and accurate service.

With that being said, setting goals and communicating them within our teams plays a major role. As […]

FINANCIAL NEWS – CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IS THE MOTTO FOR ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT

2018-11-28T21:25:48+00:00November 28th, 2018|Latest News|

As previously mentioned, at the beginning of the year we began processing payroll in house for our Steak ‘n Shake team. In the second quarter, as promised, the payroll department started processing BurgerBusters payroll; no longer outsourcing to a third-party provider. As a reminder, with this has come new benefits such as a self-service site that will allow our employees to update addresses, tax withholdings, direct deposit information, and request vacations for applicable personnel. As we get close to the end of the year, everyone should be making sure […]

HUMAN RESOURCES – SEXUAL HARASSMENT

2018-11-28T18:36:27+00:00November 28th, 2018|Latest News|

Based on today’s headlines for the ongoing #MeToo Movement, this movement has put sexual harassment on top of the minds of many employers and employees alike. For over twenty years BurgerBusters Inc. has kept their policy updated, investigated allegations immediately, and enforced its policies consistently. We have zero tolerance for any harassment including sexual harassment.

All of the statistical numbers for harassment are up this year and  BurgerBusters is no exception. Sexual harassment complaints are about 60% higher this year; however, we have added a 20%   increase in stores as well. Our […]

ASSET PROTECTION – DRUGS IN THE WORKPLACE

2018-11-28T18:34:58+00:00November 28th, 2018|Latest News|

According to the CDC 72,000 Americans died from overdoses in 2017, that equates to more people dying from overdoses than guns or car accidents last year. When it comes to substance abuse, the compulsion to use may lead those struggling with addiction to do just about anything to get their hands on more drugs, including stealing.

BurgerBusters Inc. has seen an increase in the number of drug related incidents on our properties over the last year. […]

DEVELOPMENT

2018-11-28T16:48:17+00:00November 28th, 2018|Latest News|

BurgerBusters growth has gone from great to amazing. Every six months this newsletter gives me a chance to take a breath and reflect on the sheer number of projects we have completed or started in such a short period of time.

The development process to build a new store, remodel an operating business, or add on a walk-in cooler is long and complicated. Starting with site plans, then building plans, and permits to ultimately complete construction can take years to accomplish. One of the top priorities of the Development Team […]

2018 has been the “Year of Nacho Fries.” Nacho Fries have been the most successful launch in Taco Bell’s history. Bigger than the Crunchwrap, mas grande than breakfast, and even bigger than the former champion, Doritos Locos Tacos. Thank you to everyone for their diligent efforts during the rollouts. There were many new dynamics and pressures to ensure that our customers received and enjoyed a high-quality product, a challenge that was met with strong-willed determination by all. Hopefully we can maintain this […]
