BurgerBusters, congratulations on another stellar year of financial results in 2018! Despite our unit total growing by over 25% this past year, the company was still able to maintain its high standards of excellence. It is clear that my call in the last newsletter for a return to fundamentals was heeded and I could not be happier with the results.

As we move forward in 2019, please continue to be vigilant because BurgerBusters continues to push  development across multiple fronts. Since the last newsletter, BurgerBusters has constructed and opened four new Taco Bell restaurants (Unit No. 33183 Orange, VA; Unit No. 35065 Henrico, VA; Unit No. 32378 Waynesboro, VA; and Unit No. 35254 Virginia Beach, VA) and fully remodeled three existing restaurants (Unit No. 19749 Ruckersville, VA; Unit No. 17199 Waynesboro, VA; and Unit No. 34842 Troutville, VA). Our development group has also  completed one scrape and rebuild (Unit No. 33518 Hampton, VA) and one scrape and offset (Unit No. 35885 Lynchburg, VA). At this moment, BurgerBusters has one new restaurant under construction (Greensboro, NC) along with one minor remodel (Unit No. 15359 Virginia Beach, VA) and one cooler / freezer project (Unit No. 5288 Harrisonburg, VA). Shortly, we will have another four restaurants under construction (Hampton, VA; Front Royal, VA; Fredericksburg, VA; and Colonial Heights, VA), along with two major remodels (Williamsburg, VA and Stanleyville, NC) and several special projects (dining room expansion in Fredericksburg, VA and freezer project among other things in Burlington, NC). As evidenced by all of these projects, BurgerBusters has maintained its standing as one of the top developing franchisees in the country.

As we continue to grow, I would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know how much I appreciate everyone who has helped make BurgerBusters the great success  story that it is. Most of all, I would like to show my appreciation to the store-level employees. They are the lifeblood of this company, without which we could accomplish nothing. It is your tireless effort and devotion, manning our restaurants and serving the customers that makes this company great. Having started my career as a store-level employee myself, I understand how difficult and extensive your jobs can be. Also, your work is a tremendous help to the communities you serve. From the customers you help to the business you bring in that helps drive the  local economy, your community would not be the same without your hard work and commitment to excellence. Do not think your hard work goes unnoticed. Countless Restaurant General Managers, District Managers, and Vice Presidents in this company started where you are today. They persevered to climb the corporate ladder and you can too. BurgerBusters is always looking to reward and promote its employees. For all of these reasons,  I wanted to take a moment to  recognize your efforts and thank you for your service to your communities and to this company.

I would also like to thank the BurgerBusters Senior Team, Joe Mangano, Greg Rowland, and Kirk Jester. These are the leaders of this company and I believe they are leaders in their fields. Joe recently completed a two-year stint as the Chairman of the Big 12 Operations Committee. Greg has acted as BurgerBusters’s lead negotiator with numerous bank groups, financial firms, and franchisors over the course of several global company refinancings and store acquisitions, all while transforming our Accounting Department into one of the topnotch groups in the industry. For many years, Kirk has been a valued member of the important Underwriting Committee of Franchise Insurance Group, an insurance captive that BurgerBusters helped found that provides insurance to numerous franchise groups throughout the country, while   continuing to grow and expand our Human Resources Department into a strong and efficient group. Each of these gentlemen heads a major segment of this company and I thank them for their commitment to making BurgerBusters a world-class organization. It is the same commitment I asked of everyone that works here: work hard, work smart, and work professional. Let’s continue to work and make 2019 another great year for this  company.

“ It is your tireless effort and devotion, manning our restaurants and serving the customers that makes this company great.”
