Recently two of our Steak ‘n Shake locations were converted from full service sit down locations to counter serve with a scaled down menu comprised of the most popular burger and shake offerings. The most notable change on the exterior is the large red accent wall which has been painted black. Minor interior renovations occurred to accommodate the soda station and condiment area in the dining room. Food is ordered at the register, the guest is given a table marker, and an employee will bring out the order to their table. This type of service offering is a bridge between QSR and a full service sit down restaurant. We feel that once people get used to the change they will appreciate the speed that it affords as well as no longer having to tip.
