2017 was another eventful and productive year for our company and the Facilities / Loss Control department was no exception. On the Taco Bell facilities side, we had 28 stores receive cold line upgrades, 10 stores have new parking lots paved, and 17 total Pepsi / ice machine equipment upgrades as well as countless other equipment and capital upgrades completed. With the new fry platform being pushed by corporate, BurgerBusters went ahead and met the equipment requirement this winter almost one year in advance for every store to have two fryers and one full height freezer.  The cold line upgrade project will be completed by this summer along with several other new parking lots and exterior paint jobs. On the Steak ‘n Shake side of our business, we converted two stores (Unit No. 5002 Richmond, VA and Unit No. 5007 Lynchburg, VA) to counter serve restaurants. The stores received a new look both inside and out.

On the Loss Control side of things, we remain a top three claims performer over the running 5+ years ranking amongst our 26 FIG franchisee peers. Patrick Bowen has begun touring the system on District Safety Meetings with great results and feedback from the field. As we continue to develop restaurants and grow our system, keeping safety on top of my mind through these meetings and our Safety Program is ever more essential to the continued success in our company’s claims performance.

In closing, I am very pleased to welcome our two newest members to our department, Facilities & Maintenance Specialist Tammy Craiger and Field Maintenance Technician John Lordan!
